Points for Competitive Teams

The Players’ Player Award
1.  This award will replace the Most Improved trophy for the Competitive teams.
2.   The coach and team manager will organise the players to award points to three players each week on a 3, 2, 1, basis, either after the match or at the next training session. It is probably best to get a 3, 2 1 from each girl and then calculate the overall 3,2,1 players for the week.
3.   The coach will keep all points awarded confidential, and will submit them via a new screen on the website.
4.   This award is intended to recognise a player's contribution to the team’s success each week. This can include effort at training, commitment to master a new  position, performance on court, team spirit and encouraging team mates, leadership etc.   It is also intended to prompt discussion between the players and with the coach about ongoing attitudes and actions which contribute to the overall success of their team
5.   It is not necessarily for the best player in the team (but it could be), and it is not a popularity vote.
6.   Coaches can monitor the voting throughout the season, and can have periodic discussions with the girls about popularity versus team contribution, and what the award is intended to recognise.
7
.   At the end of the season the Trophies subcommittee will add up the points for each player in each team. The player with the most points will be awarded the “Players’ Player for the team.

The Most Consistent Player
1.    The coach will award points to three players each week on a 3, 2, 1, basis, as in previous years. The coach can confer with the team manager but this not essential when deciding on the points.
2.    Points will be awarded based on attitude and effort on court both at training and during the match, team spirit, and sportsmanship.
3.   The coach will keep all points awarded confidential, and will submit them via a new screen on the website. They will not be submitted by the Team Manager.
4.  A
t the end of the season the Trophies subcommittee will add up the points for each player in each team. The player with the most points will be awarded the “Most Consistent” player for the team
